CEO, Community Heart and Vascular

Thomas A. Malasto is the chief executive officer for Community Heart and Vascular. Previously, he served as the CEO and President of The Indiana Heart Hospital from April 2006 to January 2009.

His past experiences include serving as the executive director of the St. Francis Heart Center from 2002 - 2006. Additional work history includes a consulting position with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Indianapolis (2000-2002) and director/chief operating officer and chief compliance officer with The Care Group, LLC, in Indianapolis (1993-2001). Mr. Malasto began his career with Ernst & Young in Indianapolis.

He received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and received his CPA designation in 1989. Mr. Malasto’s professional affiliations include the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators, Healthcare Financial Management Association and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves on the American Heart Association’s Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Directors.

Ram Yeleti, M.D. is the president of Community Heart and Vascular. Previously, he was with Indiana Heart Associates, P.C. since 2000, becoming its president in 2003. He has been in practice since 1998.

Dr. Yeleti has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, and a medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, Ohio. He served his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, in Rochester, Minnesota and served his fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Indiana University Medical Center and the Indiana Heart Institute.

Dr. Yeleti is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional and nuclear cardiology. He serves on the Board of Managers for Community Heart and Vascular and on the Community Health Network Foundation Board.

Kevin Fowler, Chief Financial OfficerKevin Fowler
Chief Financial Officer, Community Heart and Vascular

Kevin Fowler is the chief financial officer for Community Heart and Vascular. He is a part of the strategic development team as well as advising on all financial aspects of operations, including financial reporting, business and clinical decision support, revenue cycle, budgeting and forecasting, cash management and managed care strategy.

His past experiences include serving as CFO at Lubbock Heart Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He also held the same position at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle, Indiana. Fowler has 23 years of financial experience in health care and operations positions. He has a proven track record of working to integrate hospitals, physicians, administrators and employees into one team.

In addition to being a certified public accountant, Fowler earned his MBA and undergraduate degree from Indiana State University.

Tony Javorka is the chief operating officer of hospital and practice operations for Community Heart and Vascular. Previously, he served as the chief executive officer (CEO) for Indiana Heart Associates.

Javorka has more than 10 years of experience from both the consulting as well as the practice management aspect of health care. Additionally, he has worked as a CPA in public accounting consulting with physicians and physician practices.

Javorka graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana, with a major in accounting and a minor in management information systems. He received his CPA designation in 1999 and is a member of various national organizations including AICPA, Medical Group Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as local and civic organizations.

Director of Human Resources, Community Heart and Vascular

Sharon McCullough is the director of human resources for Community Heart and Vascular. Previously, she was with Indiana Heart Associates, P.C. since 1998 as human resources director.

McCullough provides counsel and direction to management teams regarding employee issues and workplace culture. Additionally, her responsibilities include employee relations, and corporate policy development and implementation. With more than 20 years of human resource experience she brings HR leadership from Paul Harris Stores, Inc., O.O. McKinley Company, and GTE.

McCullough has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, IL. She is an active member of the Human Resource Professional Development Association and served as a board member for five years. Additionally, she is a part of the professional affiliation SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management). She is also a member of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra.

Pete Turner, Vice President of Business DevelopmentPete Turner
Vice President of Business Development, Community Heart and Vascular

Pete Turner is the vice president of business development for Community Heart and Vascular. His responsibilities include developing strategic growth for Community Health Network's cardiovascular services through business planning, marketing, communications, referral development and e-business.

Turner previously served as director of physician marketing and practice development since 2005 with Community Physicians of Indiana, also part of Community Health Network. His past experience includes the position of director of marketing for Carolina Regional Heart Center, part of the High Point Regional Health System in North Carolina, as well as ten years of marketing and business development experience in the NASCAR industry.

Turner graduated Cum Laude from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, with a bachelor of science in marketing. He is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and the Forum for Healthcare Strategists. He also serves on the Binford Redevelopment and Growth (BRAG) Board of Directors.
